China lysine prices on weak trends
Prices fell substantially during the week ended November 4.
The persistent fall in soymeal prices decimated the demand for lysine as feed miller reduced its inclusion rates. With demand waning and inventories expanding, lysine producers cut price in a bid to promote sales.
Price quotes of 98.5-percent lysine dipped to RMB13.80-14.30/kg.
Demand for lysine is unlikely to be strong as buyers withhold purchases amid slower usage. A strong renminbi will further curtail overseas demand for China lysine, hence adding pressure to the market.
